Put the pivot of the selected objects on a corner, an edge, a face or the center of their bounding box with one click on a small 3D gizmo that looks from the same side as your viewport. Each object uses its own box and axes; one undo step.
PivotLandia is a small floating window for 3ds Max with a 3D gizmo of your object's bounding box. Click a dot and the pivot jumps there: a corner, the middle of an edge, a face or the center. No Hierarchy panel, no Affect Pivot Only, no snapping by hand.
The gizmo looks at the object from the same side as your active viewport, so the corner you click is the corner you see. Rotated, scaled and offset objects work in their own axes, the geometry never moves, and children stay where they are. Select many objects and one click gives every object the pivot on its own box, in a single undo step.
What it is good for
- Doors, drawers and lids that rotate around a hinge.
- Furniture and props that must stand on the floor (bottom center).
- Modular kit pieces that snap at a corner.
- Cleaning up the pivots of many imported objects at once.
Features
- 27 positions on each object's bounding box: corners, edge middles, face centers and the center.
- Click a dot, step with the arrow capsules, drag the marker cube, or use the keyboard.
- Follows the active viewport (can be switched off in Settings for a fixed view).
- Several objects at once, each on its own box and axes; frozen objects are skipped and reported.
- One undo step per click; the geometry and children do not move.
- Small frameless window that collapses to a tiny bar in the viewport corner.
- Themes, and an interface size that scales up automatically on 2K and 4K screens.
- Remembers everything: position, settings, window size and place.
How to use
- Click the PivotLandia button on the MaxPkg toolbar.
- Select one or more objects.
- Click a dot on the gizmo: the pivot moves there. Ctrl+Z undoes it.
Requirements
3ds Max 2022 or newer, with its own Python and Qt; nothing else to install. Tested in 3ds Max 2022.
