What is MaxPkg?
MaxPkg is a simple way to find, install, update, and remove scripts for Autodesk 3ds Max. You do not need to copy files or search for installation folders manually.
Is MaxPkg free?
Yes. MaxPkg Manager is free. Individual packages can be free or paid. The package page always shows the price or license before installation.
How do I install a package?
Open the package page and click Install. Then drag the installation button into the 3ds Max viewport. MaxPkg Manager will install the package for you.
What is MaxPkg Manager?
MaxPkg Manager is an application that works inside 3ds Max. You can use it to find, install, update, open, and remove packages from one place.
Which versions of 3ds Max are supported?
Every package page shows which versions of 3ds Max it supports. Check this information before installing the package.
Is it safe to install packages from MaxPkg?
Packages and new versions are reviewed before publication. You can also check the developer, description, screenshots, changelog, license, and user reviews before installation.
Can I remove an installed package?
Yes. Open the installed package in MaxPkg Manager and click Uninstall. MaxPkg will remove the package files automatically.
How do package updates work?
MaxPkg Manager checks for new versions. When an update is available, you can install it without downloading files and replacing them manually.
Do I need an account?
You do not need an account to browse the catalog or download public packages. An account is required to write reviews, save favorites, report problems, or publish your own package.
What if drag and drop does not work?
Click Download Installer in the installation window. Then open 3ds Max, select Scripting → Run Script, and choose the downloaded file.
Can I download the MZP file manually?
Yes. Open the package page and click Download MZP manually. In 3ds Max, select Scripting → Run Script and choose the downloaded MZP file.
Why can’t I install a package?
Check these common reasons:
• Your version of 3ds Max is not supported.
• The package is not publicly available yet.
• Your internet connection is unavailable.
• Your browser blocked the download or drag-and-drop action.
• 3ds Max cannot connect to MaxPkg.
