Terms of Use

1. Using maxpkg

You may use maxpkg to browse, download, install, review, and publish Autodesk 3ds Max packages. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your account access secure.

Packages are created by independent developers. Always review the package page, version information, license, and installation notes before using a tool in production work.

2. Uploading packages

By selecting, dropping, or submitting an MZP package to maxpkg, you confirm that you have the right to distribute it and agree to these Terms of Use. The package must be your own work, or you must have the copyright holder's explicit permission to publish it on maxpkg. You are responsible for the package, its versions, and the behavior it introduces into 3ds Max, a user's workstation, files, network, or pipeline.

Submission does not guarantee publication. Packages and updates may be reviewed, restricted, rejected, or removed to protect users and the service.

3. Accounts

Some features require an account, including publishing packages, writing reviews, and replying as a developer. Account information must be accurate enough for the service to operate safely.

We may restrict accounts that abuse the service, attempt to bypass moderation, upload harmful packages, or violate these terms.

4. Publisher rules

Developers may upload only scripts, assets, and package files they have the right to distribute. Package names, descriptions, screenshots, changelogs, license information, and compatibility details should be clear and not misleading.

• Do not upload another person's script, package, assets, or source code unless you have their explicit permission or a license that permits redistribution through maxpkg.
• Do not include third-party SVGs, icons, images, textures, fonts, libraries, code, or other copyrighted material unless you have permission or a license that permits your intended use, modification, commercial use where applicable, and redistribution in the package.
• Describe the package honestly, including its core features, compatibility, external services, paid requirements, and dependencies. Do not hide material behavior from users or moderators.
• Do not upload malware, spyware, ransomware, destructive scripts, or intentionally hidden behavior.
• Do not damage, erase, encrypt, corrupt, lock, or intentionally degrade a user's workstation, files, scenes, plugins, network, or 3ds Max installation.
• Do not collect, transmit, sell, disclose, or otherwise misuse personal data, credentials, tokens, system information, project files, or usage data without a clear lawful basis and the user's informed consent.
• Do not bypass access controls, license checks, moderation, security safeguards, or third-party services, and do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Do not use obfuscation, encrypted loaders, or other techniques to conceal behavior or prevent reasonable safety review.
• Do not download, load, interpret, or execute code or executable components from a remote or third-party service. Network requests may only retrieve clearly disclosed data needed for the package's stated feature and must respect the user's informed consent.
• Do not use deceptive prompts, hidden downloads, undisclosed network requests, crypto-mining, adware, or behavior unrelated to the package's stated purpose.
• Do not impersonate another developer, studio, product, or brand.
• Do not misrepresent license terms, pricing, compatibility, or package ownership.
• Do not upload private client files or copyrighted content without permission.
• Keep changelogs useful so users understand what changed between versions.

5. Privacy and security

A package should request only the permissions and data genuinely needed for its stated feature. If it sends data outside a user's device, it must explain what is sent, why, and where it goes before doing so.

You must keep secrets, API keys, license keys, and private client material out of package files and public metadata. Report a security issue through the support channels rather than exploiting it or publishing exploit instructions.

6. Downloads and installation

maxpkg provides package pages, download links, and an installer flow for convenience. Installing a script can modify your 3ds Max environment, so use the same care you would use with any production tool.

We aim to make package distribution safer and more transparent, but we cannot guarantee that every third party package will be suitable for every scene, pipeline, or studio policy.

7. Reviews

Reviews should describe real experience with a package. Developers may reply publicly to reviews, but they may not edit user review text or ratings.

We may hide or reject reviews that are abusive, spammy, unrelated, misleading, or submitted to manipulate ratings.

8. Code of Conduct

maxpkg should feel useful, calm, and professional. Treat artists, developers, reviewers, moderators, and maintainers with respect.

• Be clear and constructive when reporting issues or writing reviews.
• Respect different experience levels. Not every user is a technical director.
• Do not harass, threaten, shame, or target people.
• Do not post hate speech, discriminatory content, sexual harassment, or personal attacks.
• Do not use the platform for spam, scams, credential theft, or malicious links.
• When in doubt, explain the problem and give people a path to fix it.

9. Content ownership

Developers keep ownership of the packages and assets they upload unless they state otherwise. By uploading content to maxpkg, you allow maxpkg to host, display, process, moderate, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service.

You are responsible for checking the rights and license terms for every third-party item included in a package or listing, including code, libraries, icons, SVGs, screenshots, images, fonts, and textures. A credit alone is not enough when the license does not allow redistribution or the intended commercial use.

If you believe a package violates your rights, contact support with the package link and enough detail for us to review it.

10. Availability and changes

maxpkg is evolving. Features, moderation rules, APIs, package workflows, and storage behavior may change as the service improves. We try to avoid breaking user workflows without a good reason.

11. Enforcement

We may remove content, reject versions, archive packages, limit accounts, or suspend access when needed to protect users, developers, the platform, or the 3ds Max community.

12. Moderation and safety action

We may scan or review package metadata and files, request changes, limit visibility, disable downloads, reject a version, archive a package, or suspend an account when we reasonably believe it creates a safety, privacy, security, legal, or community risk. These actions may be taken without prior notice when urgent protection of users or infrastructure is needed.
